This is an exhibition of hardy plants and enduring creatures.
The works have in mind the unruly energy that is often evident in life and in paint.
In the words taken from one of my very early note books, this energy is
‘…open-ended, unknown, answer unsupplied, potent with paradox and surprise, infinitely diverse in outcome. It is the essence of freedom, the essence of love, the essence of beauty and, strangely, the essence of order and not chaos…’
These early jottings continue to resonate with me and I hope these works convey some of the pleasures of life’s enduring vitality.
