Biography

Marvene Ash is an established artist based in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Her realist paintings instantly engage the viewer with a vitality born of a strong kinship with her subject. 

1952

Marvene was born in Western Queensland, near the border town of Goondiwindi

1970-73  

Studied art in Brisbane at the Kelvin Grove CAE, majoring in painting in her final year. 

1974-85

Supported her early career teaching art in Regional Queensland. 

Furthered her studies under the tutelage of the Flying Art School.

Independently pursued studies in art, religion and philosophy through extensive self-funded solo travel to UK, Europe and Scandinavia.

1986 -

 Moved to Maleny on the Sunshine Coast and, with husband Jonathan Davies, extended an impressive dairy-shed home to include a studio and gallery. Mounted regular solo and group shows throughout Queensland in regional and commercial galleries.
